History
Cornerstone Baptist Church was
organized in October of 1994. We are active members of
the Surry Baptist Association. As a small group of
Christian believers, we met in several different locations
including: a bank, tire store, and several community
buildings. With our faith and trust in the Lord we
began construction of a new church building. The dream
of a permanent place to worship became a reality of June 2,
1996, as we held services for the first time in our new
building. The Lord continued to bless us and in
February of 2000, we started construction on our new
sanctuary and fellowship hall. In December of 2000, we
held Sunday services in the new sanctuary.
Cornerstone Baptist is still a small church where people
love the Lord. We hold regular Sunday morning service
with Sunday School (classes for all ages) beginning at 9:45
AM, and worship at 11:00 AM. We have Wednesday night
Bible Study for adults and mission groups for the children
including: Team Kids Discipleship, and Junior Youth
Choir practice. Choir practice for adults follows the
Bible study. All activities start at 7:00 PM on
Wednesday. The Jr. High and High school age groups
meet on Sunday afternoon at 6:00 PM. We have an active
"Women on Missions" group and are involved in several local,
state, and national mission projects as well as supporting
Southern Baptist Missionaries serving in foreign lands.
If you are looking for a small church filled with love for
our Christian brothers and sisters as well as a love for our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, come visit with us at
